Bruce A. Vande Berg, DDS

Meet Dr. Vande Berg

Oral Surgeon Dr. Bruce A. Vande Berg received his undergraduate degree from Northern Michigan University and his dental degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. While at the University of Michigan he was awarded the Dr. William S. Kramer Award for of Academic Excellence and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the dental honor society. He then received his training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to rigorous surgical training, Dr. Vande Berg also completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at the UNC Birth Defects Research Center where he studied abnormal craniofacial development. He became a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1999.   

Dr. Vande Berg is a past-president of the North Carolina Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Drs. Englehardt and Vande Berg started their full-scope practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery in 1995. Shortly thereafter, they became Adjunct Associate Professors in the Department of Dental Ecology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Our practice has remained active in the education for students at UNC School of Dentistry and Wake Technical Community College.

This practice has also served as one of only a few surgical centers in the nation for a comprehensive study on the surgical removal of third molars. These studies have been published in prominent national journals.

Dr. Vande Berg has been an active participant in many community and professional organizations. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the Raleigh/Wake County Dental Society.
